Medicare Advantage enrollment among long-stay residents grows by more than 180% between 2010 and 2023, report finds,” by Foster Stubbs, McKnights LTC News

“Enrollment in Medicare Advantage (MA) among nursing home long-stay residents increased by 183% from 2010 to 2023, according to a report published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society. … Currently, MA covers 54% of Medicare beneficiaries and has been the subject of media scrutiny for its policies and practices. Authors note that because of MA’s substantial growth over the last decade, there needs to be a concerted effort to tailor these plans to the needs of the individual rather than serve as a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution.”

LTC Comment, Stephen A. Moses, President, Center for Long-Term Care Reform:

Complications of Medicare Advantage coverage for long-stay nursing home residents continue to increase as do the numbers MA covers.
