Key Findings Highlight Caregiver Challenges
Both groups were asked about the financial, logistical and emotional challenges they face as caregivers. Here’s what stood out to us:
- Caregivers with LTC coverage reported major financial relief. Those without LTC often absorbed care costs personally or had to step in as daily caregivers.
- People who experienced LTC first-hand were significantly more open to purchasing coverage for themselves later.
- All caregivers reported emotional and logistical difficulties, but those with LTC support had more capacity to maintain work + life balance.
- Both groups demonstrated the need for increasing awareness of LTC’s benefits for caregivers. Ongoing LTC education is considered key in enhancing acceptance and planning among family caregivers.
