Unfortunately, an earlier announcement regarding Kentucky’s approval and launch of ManhattanLife’s OmniFlex™ Short-Term Care product was premature.
As Kentucky is the only state to replace the policy’s existing 5% Simple inflation with a 3% Compound cost of living adjustment rider, it has posed significant unforeseen hurdles that are, unfortunately, still in the process of being resolved.
We received the following message from ManhattanLife regarding the issue: “At this point, … view Kentucky as not available with no projected release date. Please know that behind the scenes we are working this as hard as we can. We have not yet been able to ascertain if a revised filing is required. If that is required, the time delay will be substantial.”
We apologize for the unwelcome news and disruption.
Any Kentucky cases submitted during the period of time in which Kentucky was available on the ManhattanDirect 2.0 e-App will continue to be processed. We have been assured that those cases will not be affected, and coverage will still be honored.
Again we apologize for the disruption and inconvenience.
We are working closely with ManhattanLife and will share any updates and news promptly when made available.
