“Senior care rates balloon in every state: CareScout report,” by Kathleen Steele Gaivin, McKnights Senior Living
“Senior living and care rates have increased to record levels in every state since the end of the pandemic, according to the results of a new report from CareScout. The findings are based on CareScout’s analysis of data from its ‘Cost of Care Surveys’ from 2022 and 2025 across care settings nationwide. … The good news, according to CareScout, is that senior living and care rates stabilized in 2025 for the first time since the pandemic. Rates increased 1.8%, on average, in 2025, compared with 9.2% in 2024. … For findings from the 2025 CareScout Cost of Care Survey, see McKnight’s Senior Living and McKnight’s Home Care.”
LTC Comment, Stephen A. Moses, President, Center for Long-Term Care Reform:
We reported earlier on CareScout’s 2025 cost of care survey. This is the company’s own analysis of their findings. Bad news, good news, indeed. But overall a deteriorating financial condition for long-term care.
