Important Information
Effective immediately, please follow the guidelines below for submitting Trial Right applications in Maine:
Maine Trial Right GI Period
- If a client dropped a Medigap policy to join a Medicare Advantage (MA) plan for the first time and has been in the MA plan less than 36 months, they may return to a Medicare Supplement plan.
- They can purchase a new policy of equal or lesser benefits from any insurance carrier.
- The 90-day enrollment period from the date of MA plan termination. Outside this window, underwriting is required.
Trial Right Exception
- If the prior Med Supp policy was issued before 2006 and included outpatient prescription drug benefits, the client is entitled to any Med Supp plan offered by any carrier.
