“By 2060, older adults are projected to make up 23.4% of the US population, but the US will rank 110th among the world’s countries in that regard, because populations elsewhere are aging much more rapidly. That’s according to a new report released Monday by the US Census Bureau. The move to 110th place will be quite a drop from 2025, when the United States ranked as the 48th oldest country out of 227, according to the report, ‘An Aging World: 2025.’ Last year, 18.9% of the US population was aged 65 or more years.”
