What is a Thrivent Action Team?
You may have heard about Thrivent Action Teams in a webinar, seen them featured in Thrivent materials, or even spotted someone in your community wearing a “Live Generously” T-shirt. But what exactly is a Thrivent Action Team, and how can it help turn an idea into action?
It is a volunteer program that gives Thrivent clients with membership the tools, promotional items, and up to $250 in seed money to lead a local fundraiser, educational event, or service project.
How It Works
- Lead and Gather: An eligible member spots an unmet need in their community or congregation and recruits a team of family, friends, or neighbors to help.
- Apply: The member submits an online project application through their Thrivent Account at least 14 days before the event.
- Get Resources: If approved, Thrivent sends an action kit containing promotional materials, “Live Generously” T-shirts, and a promotional/seed-money card worth up to $250 to jump-start the activity.
- Take Action and Share: The team executes the project (such as a food drive, a benefit meal, or assembling care kits), then shares their success story online.

Thrivent members have voted and we have a winner! Volunteers across the country will soon sport the newly selected 2027 Live Generously T-shirt as they pack care kits, clean up parks, support local causes and make a difference in their communities.
People want what they wear to reflect what matters to them. These shirts have become visible symbols of generosity in action.
Thrivent clients who apply for a Thrivent Action Team in 2027 will receive the new T-shirt.
